Staff Accountant

RBA is looking for an Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Services team in our Wayzata office. This is a part-time position reporting into the Director of Corporate Services. 

You will have a high interaction with the business in the invoicing of RBA Solutions and management team for creating base information used in day-to-day business management – we want someone who desires to learn the business and then apply that knowledge to making our accounting practices even better.

This role has both specific capabilities and opportunity to expand as we continue to evolve with the digital market. 

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

Customer Billing

  • Generates and sends invoices to clients on work performed based upon client requirements
  • Acts as point of contact for clients and internal team on discrepancies and their resolution
  • Active management of current receivable balances and update of executive team on collection status

Consultant Team – Time Card Management

  • Works with Consultants to ensure all time cards have appropriate information for customer billing and time cards are processed on timely manner each week
  • Work with Project managers to adjust time cards when needed (time transfers, etc.)
  • Project setup with accounting and CRM systems.

Accounts Payable

  • Owns the full cycle of Accounts Payable: verification of invoices with RBA business owner, data into accounting or expense management systems and processing of payment
  • Owns the investigation and resolution of discrepancies from vendors

Purchasing

  • Works with IT manager on hardware/software requirements and then finds the best source, price and buying options
  • Oversee the Corporate credit card reporting and entry into accounting systems

Shared Areas of Responsibility with Finance team:

  • Monthly accounting procedures – will be assigned different areas of the monthly accounting processes, close procedures and reporting
  • Operational Reporting - work with our Manager of Business Operations on the collection of data and creation of information for managing the business through combination of operational and financial metrics
  • Budgeting and Forecasting – Work with our Manager of Finance in the creation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting for both internal and external needs

Position Requirements

Education

2 or 4 year degrees in accounting or business administration

Experience

We are open to recent college graduates in accounting or individuals with more experience in business and accounting.  We are looking for familiarity with accounting procedures as a base that we can train upon.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Relates well with a range of individuals and personalities due to expected field interaction and has strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to develop working relationships in order to recognize and balance the needs of the business and finance teams.
  • Competency in MS office, databases and accounting software
  • Desire to take on the challenge to analyze, examine and evaluate data for both accounting and reporting purposes.  Able to research and resolve problems, using sound judgment to resolve and when to seek additional input.
  • Prioritizes work and manages to deadlines, including the ability to detail the steps needed to complete tasks 
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and under minimal supervision 
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive data
